What parents need to know
This PG-rated animated sequel contains mild action sequences with cartoonish chases and confrontations between animal characters, but no graphic violence. The humor is family-friendly with occasional mild innuendo that will likely go over younger children's heads. Some scenes in unfamiliar urban environments might be slightly intense for very young viewers, but the overall tone remains positive with themes of friendship, teamwork, and problem-solving.
With its PG rating, this film is generally appropriate for viewers 8 and older. Parents of sensitive children under 8 might want to preview the film or watch together, as some chase sequences and the mystery elements could be mildly suspenseful for the youngest viewers. The film continues the original's messages about diversity, cooperation, and overcoming prejudice through its animal characters.
