💡 Behind the Scenes

The film was shot on location at the real Caddo Lake, which straddles the border between Texas and Louisiana. This location is the only natural lake in Texas and is famous for its sprawling cypress forest. Producers M. Night Shyamalan and his company, Blinding Edge Pictures, backed the project after being impressed by Held and George’s debut feature, Topside. To maintain authenticity, the production had to navigate the actual fluctuating water levels of the lake, which mirrored the film's plot. The script was inspired by a photograph of the real Caddo Lake that the directors found online, leading them to research the area's unique geography.
