💡 Behind the Scenes
Ranbir Kapoor underwent a drastic physical transformation, losing and gaining over 20 kilograms multiple times to portray different phases of Dutt's life. The prosthetic team used over 20 different looks. Director Rajkumar Hirani and writer Abhijat Joshi conducted over 300 hours of interviews with Sanjay Dutt. Several scenes were shot at real locations, including Sanjay Dutt's actual house in Mumbai and the iconic Leopold Cafe. Paresh Rawal, who played Sunil Dutt, spent time with the Dutt family to understand the patriarch's mannerisms and voice modulation.
