Story overview
In early 1900s Oklahoma, young Sarah Rector, an African-American girl, inherits seemingly worthless land but believes oil lies beneath it. When her faith is rewarded and oil is discovered, she must navigate greedy opportunists trying to take her newfound wealth. With help from family, friends, and determined wildcatters, Sarah fights to maintain control of her land and becomes one of the nation's first African-American female millionaires as a child.
